Our community choir
If you enjoy singing, we’d love you to get involved.
You don’t need to audition, and it doesn’t matter if you feel you can’t sing! It’s a chance for everyone to blend their different voices to create a beautiful sound, whether you have previous choir experience or not.
It should be an exciting experience!
As well as having a great time, our aims for the choir are to:
- promote wellbeing
- address social isolation
- create greater community cohesion
- increase awareness of the value of advocacy in all its forms.
We’re planning to work with nationally known performers, as well as other community choirs. There’ll be a wide range of music, some of which you will probably know well, and some that may be new to you.
Our music director
Genevieve Dawson is a singer-songwriter originally from Edinburgh, now based in south-east London. Find out more about Genevieve .
The Big Sing Along – 17 July 2019
Thank you to everyone who came and joined us for the Big Sing Along! It was a wonderful and lively evening of singing and dancing to songs from South African spirituals to The Beatles!
History of our choir
Our very first performance was on 6 December 2018, as part of the famous ‘Santa in the City’ event. We were chosen to sing festive songs and help give out the medals. A great time was had by everyone. We also held carol concerts in the run-up to Christmas. We’re planning more performances and will let you know about them here.
