Jonathan’s background is in supporting others to develop skills, knowledge and best practice to deliver excellent services. As the operational safeguarding lead at VoiceAbility, he delivered all safeguarding training across the multi-site organisation and has been key in the continuous review of the organisation’s work in safeguarding adults and children. Jonathan’s previous roles have included Interim Head of Quality, Interim Regional Director, Quality Assurance Manager, Service Development Manager and Lead Advocate – all roles using his strengths in people management, developing staff and making sure teams have up-to-date knowledge on policy, procedure and best practice. Jonathan is currently Advocacy Development Manager for The Advocacy Project, responsible for setting up, managing and delivering new services.
Jonathan holds a Diploma in Independent Advocacy (specialisation: Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards), Pg (Dip) in Legal Practice and LLB (hons) in Law. He has worked as a paralegal for HMA Law, specialising in Commercial Litigation and Professional Negligence.
In his spare time Jonathan is a fell and long distance trail runner, and sometimes volunteers to marshal events. He also enjoys climbing, and most outdoor activities. When at home he enjoys reading science fiction.
