Come and grow with us

This is an exciting time for us as an organisation – we’re growing and developing, bringing new people on board, and exploring new ways of doing things. And we’re doing all of this sustainably, in line with our core values. It’s part of our plan to reach more people and have an even deeper impact on their lives. We have lots of new opportunities for people to join as staff. We’re also looking for volunteers – particularly those with lived experience of mental health issues or learning disabilities. So if you’re looking for a new challenge, now is a great time to join us.

“I love that the organisation brings everybody together, no matter what people’s disadvantages or disabilities are. We work as a team.”
Jo, Governance & Projects Coordinator

Doing what works

We’ve always had a great reputation for genuinely putting people at the heart of what we do and how we make decisions. Because we’ve focused so strongly on the quality of our services, the impact we’ve made on people’s lives, and being innovative about how we approach things, we’ve been able to make important changes for people who struggle to get their voice heard.  “Voice, rights and choice” is a central motto for us, and it runs right through everything.

New ventures ahead

We’re very proud the quality of our work is being recognised more widely. In recent times we’ve been awarded flagship contracts – including mental health advocacy at Broadmoor Hospital, helping children struggling with their mental health in Great Ormond Street Hospital, and working with NHS England to make sure the people who use services have a real say about how they are designed.  Here’s a snapshot of just some of the things we’re currently focusing on:

  • survey to find out how digital psychological therapies have helped people (this will feed into changes in the NHS)
  • digital ways to help people get advocacy and information about their rights (designed to include people with particular communication needs)
  • helping people understand what staying safe means for them and what to do if they feel unsafe (we’re using principles of co-production to improve safeguarding with the view that prevention is better than cure)

The right team to do the job

We need skilled, experienced staff who are supported in their roles to do this great work.  We’re proud to have amazing people working with us – we expect the best from them, and we do our best to nurture this by supporting people’s development and wellbeing at work.  Our most recent staff survey paints a healthy picture:

  • 100% of our staff say “Work gives me a sense of achievement”
  • 96% of our staff say “My team cooperates to get things done”

Come and join us.  See which roles we’re inviting people to join us in now.
