In conversation with Michael Rosen
Acclaimed children’s poet and author Michael Rosen joined us to talk about his experiences with our NHS and his views on some of the health inequalities that have emerged since the pandemic. He also shared his experiences with grief and adversity, and what it can mean to live well through tragedy.
Beyond his literary achievements, Michael Rosen has become a powerful public voice on issues of health, care and inequality. Following his own prolonged stay in intensive care, he has spoken openly about survival, recovery and the realities of life after critical illness. He is a passionate advocate for the strengths of public healthcare and the inequalities that shape people’s outcomes.
Michael’s work and public conversations explore what it means to endure, to remember, and to live well despite profound challenges. Through storytelling, reflection and advocacy, he continues to champion empathy, resilience and the importance of speaking up about lived experience.
