About this service
We provide statutory advocacy for people in Ealing who are subject to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
An RPPR is a ‘Relevant Person’s Paid Representative’, appointed by the local authority when no friends or family are available to support the person.
Our RPPRs support people to understand and share their views about their support and any restrictions they face, and will help them challenge their DoLS at court if they object.
Who is it for?
People in a care home or hospital who lack capacity to consent to their care arrangements.
When is it available?
When someone is subject to DoLS and has no friend or family to represent them.
What does the advocate do?
Explains your rights, helps you understand DoLS and your support arrangements and to challenge the DoLS if you object.
How to access the service
Referrals must be made by a professional involved in the DoLS process.
