About this service
We provide statutory advocacy for people in Ealing who find it hard to understand, remember, or communicate information or take part in decisions about their care and support – and who have no one suitable to help them.
An Independent Care Act Advocate (ICAA) can help you understand your rights, support you in meetings with professionals, and make sure your views are taken into account when decisions are made about your care and support.

Who is it for?
People in Ealing or funded by the borough who are having a needs assessment, carers assessment, preparation of a support plan, review of their care and support or are subject to a safeguarding enquiry.
When is it available?
If you have substantial difficulty being fully involved in one of the above situations and there is no appropriate person available to support you.
What does the advocate do?
Explains your rights, helps you understand your options, attends meetings with you, and makes sure your views are heard.
How to access the service
Care Act referrals must be made by the social care professional who is carrying out your assessment, review or safeguarding enquiry.

Paid advocacy
The Advocacy Project can support you wherever you are.
Our Paid Advocacy service introduces you to an expert advocate who will get to know you, help you understand your rights, and support you to make your wishes known. They could write letters with you, take part in video calls, or accompany you to meetings.
They’re on your side, championing you, every step of the way.
