User involvement
We believe everyone deserves to be heard. Our User Involvement services give everyone the opportunity to use their voice and be heard by organisations delivering services.
What is User Involvement?
Our user involvement projects help people speak up about the services they use and have a real say in how they are run.
User involvement means making sure people’s voices are heard, so they can help shape and improve services and influence decisions at local and national levels.
People who use services are experts in what works and what doesn’t. They know what they need and how services can be better. Everyone should have the chance to be involved in every part of their care – from their own treatment to how services are planned, managed, and reviewed.
We offer lots of ways for people to share their views through our projects, which work with people with learning disabilities, people using or wanting to use mental health services, and older people.

What do the groups do?
Here are a few examples of the groups we run or projects we have previously delivered. To see more scroll down to our full list.
- Our Choice & Big Voice: consultation and speaking up groups for people with learning disabilities in Westminster (Our Choice) and Kensington and Chelsea (Big Voice). Their views are fed back to senior health and social care commissioners.
- Speak Up Speak Out: speaking up groups for people with learning disabilities and a mental health need in Westminster. Their views are fed back to mental health services. We facilitate presentations, training and mystery shopping.
- Cancer – Screen, Protect, Detect this project aimed to improve access to cancer screening for people with learning disabilities through identifying and reducing barriers to screening and support services. Though this project is now finished, you can find out more about its impact in Westminster and the Royal Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea here.
- Autism Navigation Service: for adults living in Brent who have an autism diagnosis or are waiting for an assessment. We provide information, advice, and guidance to help you access local health and social care services and find the support that best meets your needs.
